There are a lot of places to visit in Rome since it is one of the oldest city in the world. The city offers a piece of the Ancient Rome, some places can even be seen for free. The majority of archeological sites are situated in the center of the city which makes it easier for visitors to visit more sites in a day. Even if you do not have time to visit everything there is to see just by simply walking on the street you can get an overview of ancient Rome’s history.

• The Colosseum of Rome
The Colosseum of Rome is one of the biggest amphitheater built in Ancient Rome. It has a capacity of about 55.000 people and was built by Emperor Vespasian in AD 80. Here the emperor organized fight between gladiators and between gladiators and wild animals. If you come here you will see a lot of people dressed like gladiators walking between the Colosseum and the Arch of Constantine.

• The Pantheon
One of the places to visit in Rome definitely has to be the Pantheon, the temple of all the gods. The temple was built by Emperor Hadrian between 118 AND 125 AD. In the 7th century in this place was a church made by early Christians. To visit the Pantheon you can do it for free. It is the best preserved building in the entire Rome.

• Roman Forum
When you go to Rome you must visit the Roman forum, it is a complex filled with ruins of temples, arches and basilicas. The complex was the center where all the ceremonial, legal, social and business actions took place. This is truly an amazing site, you will have to wonder around about 2 hours just to see everything there is to see.

• Baths of Caracalla
The baths of Caracalla are situated at the foot of Aventine hill. The baths were used in the second to sixth century AD by people who wanted to take a bath. In Ancient Rome the bath was a social event for people. The complex has about 1.600 bathers, restaurants, a gym and beautiful gardens.

As you can see there are a lot of places to visit in Rome and it should not be a surprise since it is one of the oldest cities in the world. Everyone should visit at least once in their lives the ancient city.
